The Emergency Shut-Off Valve Testing Bench is a dedicated testing and calibration device for emergency shut-off valves used on pressure tank trucks carrying liquefied gases and other pressurized media. It is mainly used to verify the valve’s sealing performance, opening and closing performance, and action response speed, so as to ensure reliable operation of the valve in emergency situations such as collision, rollover, or leakage.

The Emergency Shut-Off Valve Testing Bench is designed for compliance testing and calibration of emergency shut-off valves on pressure tank trucks. It is suitable for nominal diameters DN25, DN50, and DN80. The equipment is used to complete four performance tests: body strength test, air tightness test, excess flow performance test, and shut-off time test. For DN80 imported or imitation imported configurations, the excess flow performance function may not be available, and this item may be omitted during testing.

The system uses air and clean water as test media. Its control system is composed of computer + PLC + control software, and the clamping control is realized by an electric contact pressure gauge. The overall equipment is composed of an operation console, a clamping bench, and a water tank unit, with stainless steel piping and valves.

Test Performance Requirements

The equipment is used for the following performance requirements:

Body Strength Test

This is a pressure test for the tightness and pressure resistance of the complete valve shell formed by the valve body and valve cover. It is a hydraulic test. Within the specified time, no visible deformation and no leakage are considered qualified.

  • When working pressure is less than 0.25 MPa, test pressure = maximum working pressure + 0.1 MPa
  • When working pressure is greater than or equal to 0.25 MPa, test pressure = maximum working pressure × 1.5

Air Tightness Test

Includes low-pressure test (0.1 MPa) and high-pressure test (maximum working pressure). It is a pneumatic test using air, and no visible leakage within the specified time is considered qualified.

Shut-Off Time Test

When the internal pressure of the test piece reaches the maximum working pressure, the workpiece is manually closed. The time required for complete closure is checked by the flowmeter, displacement sensor, and manual timing.

  • Below DN50: < 5 s
  • DN65 and above: < 10 s

Excess Flow Performance Test

This test checks whether the valve can automatically close when the outlet medium flow reaches the rated flow. It is a hydraulic test, and the allowable deviation of the maximum flow at the moment of self-closing is rated flow ±10%. For some DN80 imported or imitation imported configurations, this function may be absent.
